Abstract
The contemporary world is undergoing an accelerated digital transformation that fundamentally alters the functioning of all socioeconomic systems, including the higher education sector. Higher education institutions face a critical challenge not only to adapt to these changes but also to leverage them as a catalyst for qualitative improvement. In this context, there is a pressing need for a systematic, holistic approach to quality management that effectively combines traditional standards with the opportunities provided by digital technologies. The purpose of this study is to develop and scientifically substantiate the concept of the Method for Managing Digital Transformations to Enhance Educational Quality. The method is based on the principles of systems analysis, conceptual modeling, and iterative improvement, which is implemented through an adapted PDCA cycle (Shewhart-Deming: Plan–Do–Check–Act). This approach allows HEIs not only to respond to challenges but also to proactively shape an innovative educational environment. The study identifies key stakeholders (leadership, faculty, students, employers) whose coordinated interaction is a prerequisite for successful transformation. The preconditions and necessary conditions for implementing the method are defined, including the presence of a clear strategy, leadership support, sufficient resources, and a readiness for change. The advantages (systemic approach, data orientation, flexibility), disadvantages, and potential risks (high initial costs, dependence on technology, risk of digital divide) arising from the digitalization process are detailed. The scientific novelty of the work lies in the development of an integrated methodological approach that combines the concepts of quality management and digital transformation within a cyclic PDCA model, enabling HEIs to achieve continuous improvement. The practical significance is that the proposed method serves as a tool that can be used by the leadership and responsible personnel of HEIs for effective planning, implementation, monitoring, and evaluation of digital transformations. This, in turn, ensures high-quality educational services, prepares specialists competitive in the labor market, and strengthens the university’s innovative culture.
